Authenticity and Serving, Not Selling with Bradley Flowers
How can you take “boring” sales to the next level?
Through authenticity in social media! When you are authentically yourself, you’re going to attract the kind of people that you want to work with: and, you’ll attract a gold mine of referrals.
When you invite people along for your authentic journey, you’ll attract the exact kind of people that you want to work with.
On this episode of the #REalAdvice Podcast, I’m talking to Bradley Flowers, one of Mobile, Alabama’s top insurance agents. He’s co-founder of the Two Insurance Guys podcast, and has made it his mission to empower people through insurance.
This post is inspired by episode 21 of the #REalAdvice podcast. You can listen to the full episode on the podcast page, and connect with Bradley Flowers.
Shoot for the Right Target
When building connections, especially when seeking referrals, it’s all about attracting the right kind of connection.
You want the kind of connections that gravitate towards you; who actually want to work with you.
Those are the people who will be bringing you referrals, and will be helping you out.
If you’re wondering why you aren’t getting any referrals, it might be time to reevaluate the kind of people that you are attracting, and why it is that you are attracting them.
Here are a few questions you can ask:
How did they find me?
What made them connect with me?
Why did they choose me?
When you start asking these questions, you are able to help determine how they are choosing you, and what you need to do (or change) to attract the right kind of ideal clients and leads.
Authenticity is the key to strong connections.
When you’re being authentically you, you’ll attract the type of people who resonate with you and your message.
This is where your social media is important.
You can attract leads and make money with ads. But do you want to take your income to the next level? Build authenticity on social media.
When you’ve got a good social foundation, and you’re bringing in the exact kind of people you want to work with, you’ll be able to take the ads to the next level.
So what kinds of things should you be sharing on social media?
Document your story
Share about your passions and hobbies
Tell about your family
Show behind the scenes sneak peeks
These things help humanize your job: people will come to see you as far more than just a real estate agent who is there to help them find a house; you’re a person and you’re there to serve.
Share the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Some people on social media really look like they have the perfect life.
They’ve got the perfect haircut, the perfect family, the perfect job. Nothing ever goes wrong with them - I bet they’ve never had a flat tire, or anything go wrong!
Do you feel a connection to that kind of person?
But what about the person who is transparent, and openly shares what’s going on? They’ve found a way to turn their social media into documentation of their life: it’s not a journal of all of their feelings and dirty laundry, but they’re real.
When you go to work, what do you wear? Are you in a suit and tie? Or are you wearing your most comfortable pair of jeans?
Whatever it is, that is what you should be wearing on your social media photos!
Show up exactly as you are, and you’ll attract the people you want to work with. When you do that, whether or not it is just in how you dress, you’ll see your business transform.
Have you ever struggled with making solid sales connections? How can you change your social strategy to become more authentic, and attract the exact types of leads and clients you want to work with, and who are going to bring you additional leads and referrals?
