However, social media isn't just for entertainment. More and more businesses are locking into the powerful tool to help with their marketing. They can use social media to reach their ideal audience., from all over the world.

Here is the ultimate guide to social media so you can start to grow your real estate business through this powerful marketing tool.

What is Social Media Marketing?

Social media marketing is a way to grow your business through popular social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. More and more businesses are also looking toward Instagram, Pinterest, and other sites to find their ideal audience.

This form of marketing is different than other types of marketing because the goal is to provide quality content that your audience will enjoy. You want them to like, share, and comment on them so that more people will see your content.

Social media marketing is more about building a relationship with your audience. Because of this, you aren't going to want to post about your products and services all of the time. You want to provide useful content instead so that people think about you and your business when they need something that you can provide.

What are Some Tips to Create a Social Media Marketing Strategy?

Though many people think that they can just start a social media business page and everything will click into place, the truth is that you need a good strategy in order to get the most from it!

Here are some tips for creating a social media strategy.

Know your Audience.

If you want to reach as many potential customers as possible, first you need to really understand who they are. Though you may think that you want to connect with everyone, the truth is that you really just need to connect with people who will turn into customers.

You need to use this time to really think about your customers. Should you focus on men or women? Young families? How old are your potential customers? What attracts them when it comes to advertising? Should you use certain colors or animals if you want them to notice your advertisements?

Choose the Right Platform.

It is better to choose one or two platforms that you excel on than to be on all of them (and spread too thin). This also goes back to knowing your audience. Where do they spend most of their time? Are they more likely to be on Facebook, or are they spending time on Instagram and Pinterest?

Figure Out When (and How Often) You Need to Post.

Most business owners do their research when it comes down to the best time(s) to post. However, you also need to think about your audience. If you are trying to reach new mothers, you may want to post in the middle of the night or early morning when they may be feeding the baby. If you are trying to reach millennials, you may want to post right after work but before they go out at night. Weekends may be best for many people so you shouldn't skip Saturdays and Sundays.

Create Great Content.

The saying says "content is king," and nothing is farther from the truth. You need to create engaging social media content if you want your content to be noticed, among all of the other content that is out there.

Use Tools to Schedule Your Posts.

Overwhelmed by posting? You don't have to be. There are many tools that allow you to schedule your posts in advance so you can just interact with your audience as you get comments and messages.

Hootsuite, HubSpot, and Sprout Social are the most common tools used by social media marketers. You may want to try all of them and then choose the one that works best for you.

Watch Your Results (and Make Changes).

Though many people post and post, without worrying about the results, you could be wasting your time. It is important that you watch how your posts are doing so you can focus your energy on producing content that is going to help you grow your business.

Social media can be a great way to grow your business so you should really think about adding it to your marketing campaign. Once you figure out your audience, you can think about the best place to find them and the content that will catch their attention!
